Moving Forward By Looking Back: Revisiting Narratives through EMDR Therapy

Moving Forward By Looking Back: Revisiting Narratives through EMDR Therapy with Catherine Norman, LPC

Wednesday, October 16, 2024, 1:00-2:00pm ET

When hitting a life inflection point, it’s common to want to move forward to your next chapter as soon as possible. However, to move forward, it’s often necessary to pause, reflect, and take a look back and revisit the stories driving your current life and circumstances.

In this conversation, we will talk to Catherine Norman, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) about the benefits of narrative and EMDR therapy to increase understanding of the stories guiding our lives.

EMDR offers a way to understand the narratives driving behaviors and resolve the stories that no longer serve us when striving to move forward in a positive direction. Catherine specializes in EMDR therapy because she believes it’s the most effective way to help people reach their next chapters by overcoming false narratives,  depression, or anxiety.

Catherine holds a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Loyola University Maryland. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia and runs her own independent counseling practice, Next Chapter Counseling of Northern Virginia.
